With Cloud Providers, Bigger Doesn’t Mean Better

Posted on

When it comes to migrating to the cloud, it’s only natural to consider the “biggest” and “best” cloud providers when making a decision. But, as businesses flock to the cloud, it’s becoming increasingly clear that cloud specialists are delivering far superior and better-tailored solutions than their more commercial competitors.

Frankly, commercial giants are still busy figuring out what the cloud means to their business to deliver real cloud solutions.

Case in point: HP.

On the back of their failed venture into tablet devices (which were taken off the Australian market after just four days), HP has announced a desire to focus on cloud hosting services. All of this comes amidst rumours that the company may spin-off its PC manufacturing business, only months after head Leo Apotheker reaffirmed the company’s commitment to PCs.

The giants know that cloud hosting and solutions is the future—but they’re not there yet. Some members of the industry are still nervous and indecisive about their take on the cloud.

IT managers don’t find relying on bigger companies for cloud solutions appealing. It’s 2011, an era of tailor-made cloud solutions—solutions that can manage complex cloud environments and help organisations in migrating to the cloud in the most effective way.

It’s crucial that any company considering migration to the cloud speaks to a specialist that can build a flexible, tailored solution.
